The new Culinary School of Codroipo is a sustainable, nearly zero-energy building, connected to the existing Linussio High School by a corridor that unfolds like a story as you walk through it.
The architectural design aims to seamlessly integrate form and function, with natural light and natural ventilation playing an important role in shaping a harmonious and efficient learning environment.

Rooted in the timeless wisdom of Sacred Geometry and Platonic thought, this project plays with the infinite flow of the circle and the grounded strength of the square — two elemental shapes that sparked the entire design journey.
circle - infinity
square - stability and order
Consistent with my design philosophy, this project emphasizes maximizing natural light and ventilation. The careful arrangement and composition of forms are strategically developed to optimize daylight penetration and facilitate effective passive airflow throughout the building.
There are two types of vertical connection between ground floor and roof garden in this project.
- Through a slight light inside the central volume which would be variable during the day and the year.
- The concrete staircase, as a solid and resistant structure, is positioned outside the building and serves as a connecting element between two parts of the project.
The light, a symbolic presence, gently illuminated within the central volume, whispers a narrative of profound significance which will vary during the day and through the seasons and year. On the other hand, the staircase is a solid and resistant structure and is located outside the building. This will provide access to the roof garden and also different views and experience for students. Another important task in this project is the relationship between the users (in this case the students) and building to let them have different experiences in their school.
