I have been commissioned to design the new Dovera Kindergarten, located in the town of Dovera, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. The project has been completed and is currently built, awaiting its official inauguration.
The design project began with the preliminary project, focusing on the economic aspect and setting a specific square meter limit for each space. I initiated the process by defining a module with fixed dimensions; through combination, I was able to achieve the required square meters.

Analytical sketch of modules and their process of combination
The kindergarten is designed for children aged 5 months to 5 years old. The building is divided into two independent volumes connected by a portico, a porch that serves as the main entrance. At the center of this entrance area stands a lemon tree, highlighted by a circular opening above it. The cement porch, supported by three iconic columns, was carefully designed with precise lines and views — a feat made possible through close collaboration with a structural engineers.
The interplay of light through the columns, the circular opening, and the dominant lines of the porch ceiling creates a captivating visual experience. This effect changes with the different hours of the day and seasons, allowing natural light to flow in and produce evolving patterns of light and shadow throughout the year.

The courtyard at the center of the preschool aimed to bring natural light into the building. We named it the Educational Garden, which will provide children with direct contact with nature. The project placed a strong emphasis on accommodating the unique proportions and needs of children, making kid-friendly design a central focus.
Each space (classroom) has at least one window with dimensions and positions adapted to the kids' proportions, providing them with a special view of the open space and nature.
We were also asked to design a separate open space for each classroom, providing children from different sections with various outdoor activities during the day. These open spaces will provide a safe place for children to grow their creativity.

THE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS, FORMS & MATERIAL
of the kindergarten building are another fact that I considered to provide a place for children with enough space to experience and explore. And also encourage them to improve their wide imagination.
